Ok, currently I use the Omni 4000 fro all my a/b work, but now I am seeking an a/b that I can use exclusively for freehand camo work.

A smaller colour cup than the Omni is a must, and something with a better atomization for the finer camo schemes like mottling etc.

The Omni has served me extremely well since I received my replacement, and will continue to do so for years to come I think, but when it comes to mottle for example, I feel I need a little more from my brush.

If you could let me know which a/b would be suitable for acrylic and enamel pigments, and would do well in regards to our hobby needs I would be muchly appreciative.
Just a general overview is what I'm after, somewhere for me to start for comparisons, in your opinion.

Thanks in advance
Sean

Hi Sean.

It's good to hear that your Omni 4000 worked out well for you.
In regards to an airbrush for freehand camo, the next step up in terms of atomization and precision would be the Badger 100 series.
I would usually recommend the Badger 100LG, but since you want a smaller color cup then the 100G would be your best bet.
It comes with either a fine, medium or heavy tip and needle and I would recommend the medium set for acrylics and enamels.
In all honesty I don't think the Badger 100 atomizes that much better than the Omni's do, it is just a slightly more refined airbrush and has a micro-tip system, whereas the Omni, as you know, has the single needle/tip combination. Freehand camo is not as difficult to do as some think and the Omni should have no trouble doing that, but of course if you want a new toy, then look into the 100G.

I hope this helps somewhat.

Mike

Thanks for the reply Mike.
Your right, the Omni does work extremely well, but I feel like having a dedicated detail brush might be an advantage to me.

Plus it gets me a new toy to play with!Big Smile [:D]Wink [;)]

Does the 100G use the same connector as the Omni, or would I need an adaptor and a new length of hose??

Sean,

The Badger's and Omni's both fit the same airhose. Thumbs Up [tup]
