Futura

I just tried spraying futura out of my Astek air brush for the first time. I ended up with a slightly bumpy surface. I sprayed at 8psi through a fine tip head and thinned it with polly S acrylic airbrush tinner ( I could not get it to spray other wise)Sad [:(] . How are you guys doing it? and are you polishing afterward and with what?
Thank Mike

Not sure what Futura is. Do you mean Future? If spraying Future, I spray it unthinned at about 20psi with a medium needle. Works great for me.

ditto on what Rick said... around 20psi for me, unthinned. I have seen some modelers who use a 1:1 ratio of rubbing alcohol but haven't tried it so don't know how it works.. from looking at their models it works fine though.

Try cranking up the pressure and start with a mist and work up to heavier on some scratch plastic and see what happens! should do the trick for ya...

if you find you dont like the spraying thing, a wide soft brush can do the same trick when brushed slowly as not to create bubbles...

---edit---

back when I used my Aztec I sprayed it with a couple of drops of water to about an ounce of Future with good results...

oh yeah Mike, forgot to answer part of your question... no need to polish... if you are looking for a permanent gloss such as in an auto you might need to put several coats down on it is all...
