clear coat frosting

i painted the interior of my tamiya corsair w/ model master enamels, coated w/ future, applied a sludge wash of model master acryl, and clear coated w/ model master clear flat lacquer. no problems. before i joined the halves i washed the outside of fuselage w/ soap & water. after water air dried only the areas where the wash remained (in the recesses & against the ribs, etc.) frosted. everything was fine UNTIL the water touched it & dried. nothing was rushed , all coats had sufficient dry time before the next coat was applied to the best of my knowledge.any similar experiences or ideas?

I used to use Testor's Dull Cote & occasionally ran into similar problems. Rare, but irritating. I have switched to Polly Scale Flat, an acrylic, and find it to be the best flat coat I've ever used. Too late to solve your immediate problem, but you might want to try it next time.

Well, Dull Cote is a lacquer & they are both made by Testors, so I would guess they are pretty much the same product.
