Got some money to spend...

While I am happy with my Badger 360, I am thinking of expanding a little bit. Something maybe that allows finer lines for outlining camo patterns and then filling them in...and also be a gravity fed double action brush-- is there anything in the Iwata or Badger lines that fit the bill?

Mike,

I would look at the Badger 100LG.
It will do everything you will ever need with modeling.
I recommend the medium tip and needle for modeling paints.

I just got one of these Smile [:)] and I'd say the fine tip is too fine for model paints. I've been experimenting with using airbrushing inks through the fine tip. I wouldn't want to mess with model paints through it. Model paints do pretty darn well through the medium tip though, as fine a line and spray as you might ever need for modeling, I'd say. It's a very good brush.

I agree with Josh.
You can get model paints to go through the fine tip somewhat but it becomes problematic to get them to flow consistantly.
You could always buy a fine tip and needle and try it out and see for yourself.
If it doesn't work well then save it for painting a car model with urethanes or something. Wink [;)]

They make a great product also but I prefer to support America and the American worker.

What ever happened to your 100LG?
I thought you ordered one a while back and were waiting for it? Confused [%-)]

Sorry to get slightly off-topic Mike. Wink [;)]

Naah, don't think so. We just got tired of playing games with the Badger crowd comparing whose A/B is the better one. Big Smile [:D]

Come on guys let's not turn this into a Ford vs Chevy thing. Big Smile [:D]
If Mike wants an Iwata instead that is his choice and I would recommend he get the HP-CS if he goes that route.
Only problem is that his Badger 360 air hose won't fit so he would need to buy another one for the Iwata.

Nearly right, all of the above A/B and more are made by a company known as BB Rich in japan.

I wonder why this company is so secretive?
Do a Google search and it comes up blank.
I would think a company that manufactured as many different brands of airbrushes as this one is claimed to would be well known. Confused [%-)]

I think it is because they don't sell their products themselves.
I know that the Wave airbrushes have the name BB Rich stamped at the bottom of their cases.

There are many companies like this that manufacture for multiple brands/maker not just in the A/B industry but in all others too like textile, electronic goods, etc. Quiet common practice in Europe.

Guess there are quiet a few big name companies that would loose sales if it was found out that their "high-quality" products and some supers no-name brand come from the same Factory-line and only have different labels and tags sawn on at the Factory.

I checked with my sources and found out that BB Rich is not the company, they are just another distributor.
Here is what I was told:

QUOTE: Many different brands are made in "The Factory" as it is referred to in the industry. The company is called Fujiosaki Ltd. BB Rich is just another distributor like Iwata, Olympos, and the others. In reality, outside of their corporate boardroom, nobody knows who owns what!

Well, having just settled down for a long Winter's nap, with new metal Aztek, eBay compressor and MicroMark spray booth, when up through the ranks there arose such a clatter, I knew all at once that something's the matter. I bought the wrong stuff! Aurrrrrgh!

Just looking through Google for DullCote threads.....
