Another trick is to spray the area you are painting and after you let go of the airbrush trigger, point the airbrush away from what you are painting and shoot some air out the airbrush without paint. Just push the trigger down, but not back.
This will clear the droplets of wet paint that are still on the needle tip. If you don't do this and point the airbrush at the next spot to airbrush and push the trigger, you get a spattered area.
This would look fine though if you were doing German mottled camo schemes though.
