Removing paint
Posted by cbreeze on Monday, January 17, 2005 6:16 PM
Greetings,

Just wanted to share this technique I stumbled on accidently (don't ask how). I have read several suggestions for removing acrylic and enamel paint. I have tried most of them with Castrol being the lastest experiment that worked rather well.

I recently found out that lighter fluid does an excellent job of removing acrylic and enamel paint. All I did is dab a q-tip in some lighter fluid and scrubbed away the paint. The paint comes off quick and does not harm the plastic and there is very little odor. The only problem I can see is that lighter fluid evaporates very easily. Give it a try.
