Well, I certainly agree that the PDFs are of much better quality, and understand your resentment. They are also not cheap! They would sell more if they halved the prices, which should also ameliorate any lingering resentment. I have not purchased any of the airbrushing articles, so I cannot comment on their content.

I no longer subscribe to FSM. As a Canadian I pay a 20% premium for shipping, which was constantly 3-4 weeks late (which FSM has little control over). It was very frustrating to read posts online about people's gallery submissions and not be able to see them for weeks! I could often pickup the magazine in the LHS before it arrived in my mailbox. So I decided I would just buy at the LHS and support his business a bit.

I resent being locked out of content on the website as I don't subscribe, when I actually buy the magazine and wish they would reinstate the code that used to unlock said content.

I have paid for 4 downloads, all on modeling topics such as Century jets, Classical Warship etc. As a long time FSM subscriber, I resent having to pay for these downloads.

The quality (picture resolution etc.) of the paid downloads are much better than those free downloads which are barely readable. Ths FSM subscription is NOT cheap. I wish they will make some changes to assure reader loyalty.

Any comments on those paid download on airbrushing topics?

Over the years, FSM has published many useful articles on airbrushing. I have a 16-pages booklet that came as a supplement to the magazine and titled "Basics of Airbrushing Models". I don't remember what issue of FSM it came with, the copyright date is 2005 and also said that based on a 2001 publication of the same title. I found this collection very useful, but never saw it available on the FSM web site.

Inside, it has the following articles:

• ABCs of Airbrushing by Matt Usher. (More extensive that the downloadable article)
• Troubleshooting by Paul Boyer.
• Cleaning your Airbrush by Matt Usher.
• Gloss Paints by Matt Usher.
• Natural-Metal Finishes by Chris Appoldt
• Acrylics by Lisa Lamb.

I hope that Matt Usher will make it available again. Anybody else has this booklet?

Too bad I can't seem to bring up the article anymore, I would have liked to have read it. And yes I know its an old thread, but I was still hoping.

How about keeping this as a sticky.  I think it's a great resource for new airbrushers and veterans as well.
