Some other new "toys" I bought

This is something that every automotive artist needs to learn and so I bought these online this weekend and am anxiously awaiting their arrival.
Have any of you ever done any pinstriping like this?

Those brushes look like standard asian calligraphy brushes to me.

Been interested in it but haven't worked up the courage to even try it on a piece of paper.

MM,

These have been the standard pinstriping paintbrush since the 60's here in the U.S.
They are shaped as they are to hold more paint so that longer lines can be drawn before needing the brushes to be reloaded with more paint.

I have never tried it myself, as my hands have never been steady enough. I have watched some "masters" at work and was very impressed, they make it look easy. It's amazing the way the brush thins down to a point and how much paint they carry. I was one of the evil guys who laid miles of 3M-pinstripe tape on vehicles in the 80's.

That type of brushes been used in Asia for centuries(if not milenia) exactly because of those properties. They also work well for small details on Models. [+)]

I noticed them the other day at Hobby Lobby MM and almost bought them for the same reason... nice fine tip but hold plenty of paint...

ModelGrandpa... I was right there alongside ya.. I used to go through tons of that stuff... and as tacky as it was it looked ok!!! I could even do the little flourishes with it like on the front of one of Mikes books he listed...

The book came today and these guys in the book make me sick! [:0]
It is amazing what these guys can do.
With that talent I could make more money on the weekend then I do now working 50 hours a week. Man I am in the wrong business. Banged Head [banghead]

those have the characteristics of caligraphy brushes, but they certainly arent caligraphy brushes though.

The video and the brushes arrived today so all I need is some 1Shot lettering enamel and I can start practicing. Wink [;)]

I know what you mean about these brushes looking like the ancient Asian brushes as they are probably copied from those I would think.
