Right on Bud!!!!

This forum is the place. When I came back into modeling I joined here before I even bought another model first. MikeV helped me a ton on my AB needs and Matt Swann helped me get up to date on the techniques now (through www.swannysmodels.com )
I think every modeler registered here needs to add their names to this post, just the fact of kowledge thats here to any skill level.

THANK YOU ALL

for helping me reach a higher lvl in my modeling and the friends.

I agree, much of the more advanced skills I know I either learned here, or they were vastly improved upon here... This is a great group and I am grateful to be here...

Thanks for pointing that out Bud!!! I guess a lot of us here owe a big thank you to the forum as a whole!!

Bud, glad to hear that everything is coming together for you.

I do remember the Strombecker line of models, I built a bunch of them as a kid, but you do have me by a couple of decades Smile [:)] I have to agree that the amount of information available around here is astounding, and the combined knowledge of all the members is invaluable. They have helped me over a bunch of rough spots with my models, and I'm grateful to all of them.

Everyone here will be pleased to know that the information they provided was put to good use. Seldom does anyone take the time to write them a note to specifically thank them, and it is appreciated.

I added on to another reply a statement that most all I've learned about airbrushing came from right here on the Forums. I think it deserves more than a tag line.

I bet that there's not many in this group that's been modelling as long as I have. My first Strombecker was 1938. In 1941 I had a solid scale Messershmitt 109 on display at the local movie theater. I was so bloody proud. It was a kit, I can't remember who's.

Now all these years later my son gave me a Badger 150 and a bunch of canned air. ( He's Allan Buttrick and a master builder. Type in his name on Google Images) So now in my mid-seventies I've got to learn a new medium. Smart guy that I am, I started asking questions here on the FSM Forums. Every question was answered, and now I'm really comfortable with the airbrush. I think that's the right word, "comfortable". Sitting down with an airbrush for the first time is like sitting down in front of a computer for the first time.

So now I have two airbrushes. Lots of jars and stuff. A neat compressor. A big spray booth I built out of a big furniture carton...and I'm comfortable. and my modelling skills have improve 1000%. Thanks to all you guys and your skillful answers.

Now I've just got to figure out how to post pictures. I have a host (Photobucket) and I'm taking digital images. Just can't figure out how to go from the host to here. If anyone can help ) I'm new to windows. An old Apple man) I'd appreciate it. Not here on the forum, but maybe a direct email?

Thanks again,

BudSmile [:)]
