My Anthem 155 is sick.

Thanks guys. I think something has been damaged. The only thing I can surmise is that the spray tip is out of shape and won't fit down into the body. I took a very fine polishing stick today and buffed the heck out of it and it still wouldn't fit down deep enough for the threads to seat. I may just go ahead and sand it litle to see if my theory is right.

I've taken mine out twice and both times I needed to use some effort to get mine out... it doesn't fall out.

---edit--- Mike already answered so I would do what he says... if you live near a Michaels you can get one for a few dollars there..

I would replace the tip then as it may have been damaged or it is worn.

It makes no differencewhen you remove the spray regulator.

When you remove the tip, the head 51-071, threads on completely and touches the body. With the spray tip is in place, the spray head comes up about 2 threads short of seating. I am not sure if the spray tip taper should seat down into the body past the taper and over the flat area of the spray tip. There is absolutely nothing to interfere with the tiup seating.
I am wondering if for some reason the spray tip needs to be "pressed" down into the spray body? When you remove 51-071, the spray tip 41-004 is loose and falls out immediately. It looks to me like the spray tip should seat down into the body and the male taper should mate to a female taper in the body.

tho9900 - is your spray tip "stuck" to the airbrush body? As soon as I disassemble mine falls loose.

oh well, this one is good enough...

are you sure the head is not crossthreading or something? have you tried using some needle lube on the threads? once or twice mine was hard to get on and although clean, I put a spot of needle lube on my finger and got it to thread right on that way...

I'll take some pics of mine in a sec and post them, I had some but realized they were very blurry and you couldnt see much... that way you can see how far mine is in, etc...

Does the head thread on furthur with the tip out of the airbrush?
Have you tried taking the spray regulator (41-034) off and then see if it goes on furthur?

My first thought was that the tip is not seating. I have cleaned the "stew" out of it but the tip doesn't seat past the taper. I'm really hesitant to hit it with some super fine sandpaper to get it to seat down into the body. Hopefully Mike's got the answer. Thanks for the reply tho9900.

I just took mine apart and the nozzle itself is seated into the body of the airbrush with only about 1/8" of straight cylinder showing before it starts tapering down tot he hole showing. If it is sticking out further than that maybe take it out and try to see if there is any paint that got in there and clean it out. Then put the large head on, and then the tiny screw head on the end and see if it helps...

Mike will probably be along in awhile and might have a lot more suggestions but the only thing I can think of is paint in the body where the nozzle sits into it..
