Are Mop & Glo or Trewax equivalent to future?
Posted by cdclukey on Monday, March 7, 2005 8:41 PM
Folks, my wife received a box of cleaning supplies (long story) and it has a bottles of Mop & Glo and Trewax in it.

I recall when I took care of my shop's floors in the air Force, we used Mop & Glo for the same stuff Future is used for. In addition, Trewax is labelled "Acrylic Finish for rubber and vinyl floors.

So...have any of you used either of these? Will they work like future, or do I need to go get Future and be sure?

honestly I have wondered the same thing about Mop and Glo... but for aboutr $3.50 a bottle it's worth getting the genuine article... BUT... you have spurred me to go out and try the spare canopy with my P-51 with Mop and Glo I will buy this weekend... will update ya...

Thanks for the help, Tho.

Well, I wasn't so much worried about the price of Future as I was bumming at the idea of throwing out two bottles of perfectly good acrylic! We don't use acrylic on our floors, so this stuff will likely end up in the trash if i'm not using it for modeling. That said, I don't know why I just haven't done what you're planning on doing, and test it on a canopy, and maybe a styrene part or two from the spares box. the one acft kit I have in the queue right now (an AMT ERTL KC-135) is OOP, so I don't want to take any chances with it, but I'm sure I can find some other scratched clear plastic around the house. Let me know your results and I'll let you know mine.
