The double action I use is an Omni 5000. As much as I'd like to get a new toy & buy another airbrush, the reality is: nothing is likely to do better for me than the Omni is already doing. I also have a Paasche VJR, but it is slipping into retirement. The only thing I often wonder about is if I'd like the Badger 100G even more than the Omni 5000. I don't have a 100, so I don't know.

I do have an H that I used for a few years though, and I never use it anymore. It's indestructible.

Thanks for the kind help folks. I first followed what Andy suggested. I removed the AB and the hose; the compressor worked ok then. Just when I re-plugged the AB and hose back, it failed again. Then I removed the hose and AB again. This time the compressor still failed, but when I gave it a few push on the rotary, it started again. i guess something wrong with either the hose or the AB. Perhaps something wrong with the valve under the trigger. BTW if I really have to get a new double action AB, do you folks have any suggestion ?(just wondering is Badger or Iwata any better than Paashe?) Again, thak you so much.

It's a diaphragm compressor, and that means short life span. Time to get a hardware compressor with a tank.

The H isn't gonna die, but there could be something wrong with the airhose. I wouldn't be suprised if there are compressor parts in it Laugh [(-D]

It sounds to me as though the compressor is on the fritz. It seems highly unlikely that both the AB and compressor would break at the same time. Since I can't think of anything that the AB could do to caues the compressor start up problem, my money would be on the compressor.

Need more info. Some diagnostic things to try to fet a better handle on the problem, would be to take the hose and AB off the compressor. Try an start the compressor. If the problem is still there, it's definitely the compressor.

If the compressor actually starts working without the hose connected, try connecting the hose but without the airbrush. Maybe the hose is clogged and excessive backpressure is causing problems?!? just wild guess, grasping at straws..

If you have a pressure guage, what is it showing during all this?

If the compressor and hose are working correctly without the airbrush, then presumably something is wrong with the air valve and /or trigger. Get out your instructions, and disassemble that part of the airbrush and see if the problem with it either fixes itself or becomes apparent.

Good luck.

Please help. Are my compressor and airbrush hanuted??

Hi folks, I really need your help please. My compressor and airbrush are acting strange. I use the Paashe D500S compressor and Passhe H set single airbrush. First, the air compressor just doesn't start when power on. I know the electric current is there for I could here a low noise there. The rotary of the compressor just spin for half a revolution and stops. I have to power off the compressor, use a screwdriver and give the rotary a push and power on again, and I have to repeat this many times. To make a analogy, it is like starting those old WWI propeller engine aircraft, you have to have a men to push the propeller before it start.
Then when I start the compressor ( a 15 min struggle) now the airbrush cannot spray. I open the nozzel wild open the maximum but nothing comes out. Then all of sudden, 'splash', a 'big' paint spray out causing a spider web.

My question is: What is happening? I always cleanup my airbrush. The compressor is only 2 year old. Any suggestion is greatly appreciated. BTW, when coming to the worst if I have to replace both, any good brand suggestion for replacement compressor & airbrush. Thanks.Smile [:)]
