Posted by Anonymous on Friday, March 11, 2005 8:14 PM
Hello all

I have a model that calls for "Insignia White". All my paints are Tamiya so far, and I have now idea what this looks like. Is it White / White? White / Green? White / Other color??

Please help me out.

Thank you once again

If it's enamel insignia white, it won't be pure white for long. I'd use white primer from Testors Acryl instead. Want it glossy? Use Future over it.

Testors MM Insignia White is for all intents andpurposes; gloss white paint. Any gloss white paint will serve as insignia white. The name is merely a Federal Stadard military term name. I like using MM Insig. White for some US Navy aircraft, missles and etc. It saves me the step of having to shoot Future as a protective coat for washes and other weathering. Testors Laquer coat will yellow the insignia white, so I prefere Future over the Insig. White for final protective coat.
