Question about Gunze "Mr. Color Thinner"
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, March 27, 2005 6:24 AM
I have a number of Gunze Sangyo acrylic paints And in the past have always thinned them for airbrushing using Tamiya's acrylic paint thinner.

Is Gunze "Mr. Color Thinner" for ........acrylics or is it for Gunze's ......enamels ? I don't know any Japanese to read the bottle's directions.

Lopper I've been using Gunze acrylics for the last 2 years, and have only ever used Tamiya acrylic thinner or distilled water.

The Tamiya thinner comes in large bottles, and is therefore cheaper than the MrColor stuff which doesn't.

Hi,

Mr Color thinner is meant to be used for Gunze enamels (or maybe
lacquers?), NOT for Gunze acrylics. However you can (I have done it) thin Gunze acrylics with Mr Color Thinner. I use it sometimes for weathering to airbrush an almost translucent coat of tpaint, to vary the shade of the base color). However for basic corverage I use
Tamiya acrylic thinner.
