Instead of actually thinning, you might like how it works if you just put retarder in it. I'm talking about stuff you can get in art stores labeled "Acrylic Retarder". Use the liquid stuff because there's also gel and squeeze tubes which I'm sure you don't want. When I take the retarder up to the cash register I say, "I'm too smart, so I have to buy some retarder".

the best thinner is the thinner that the maunfacturer manufactures.
BUT, u can use lots of things, windex, distilled water and isoproply alcohol.
becareful when using windex and IPA, coz they will give gloss paints a matt finish.
i personally us e tamiya thinner coz it supposedly contains a retarder which slows drying time down...

I just use water with a good drop of dish soap for washes. the water thins it.. the dish soap keeps it from gathering too much around detail and lets it flow into all the nooks and crannys...... let it dry till almost set (a couple of minutes) then blot off the excess...

I've had the same problem, I've heard Alcohol to water. Mineral spirits works ok but not great.
