I'm mediocre as hell myself. I touch up with an airbrush usually. I just try to make sure that I use some leftover paint from my original spraying. That way the color stays the same. If you're touching it up with a brush, try thinning the paint down quite a bit and using a couple of coats maybe? If you have leftover airbrush paint in a jar, maybe try to use that to brush paint with. Just suggestions here as I don't touch up the way that you do.

I'm what you'd call a "mediocre" modeller. Being such, I make mistakes when doing two-tone paintjobs. How can I cover my SNAFUs without making the paint color i use seem darker when i brush it on?? You know, a bit of olive drab where gray should be, i'll just brush it on. BAM it looks crappy. please help!
