Hmmm, did you use enamels? They are tough and you could have a go at the maskol with some duct tape- risky, but with enamels it should work. Don't even think about it with acrylics.

Humbrol Maskol - Disaster - Help needed!

I've built a 1/72nd Spitfire and spent a fair bit of time clipping the wings and painting it. When it came to the decal stage I wasn't happy with the decal invasion stripes so I decided to have a go at painting them.
Quite straightforward I thought.
I masked off the existing paint using tape and humbrol maskol. Here's were I ran into problems. I left the maskol on too long and now it won't come off!Sad [:(]
What I would like to do is remove the decals on the sides of the plane and remove the hardened maskol whilst leaving the rest of the paint intact.
Is this going to be possible or is it going to be out with the oven cleaner and starting again?
Will oven cleaner fetch off the decals leaving me with a blank canvas or do I need to remove them first?

The paint is xtracolour and humbrol enamel
