One area in which acrylic is better than enamel, is that it paints better on vinyl tracks. The newer tracks can be painted and glued with regular paints and glues. However there are a lot of older kits whose tracks will not not paint well with enamel, and for those acrylics are nice.
Another thing to consider is that you don't have to do one OR the other exclusively. Although, I like enamels for most things, if I cannot mask of the tires, I really like to paint them with acrylic black (and a lot of acrylic thinner to keep things from drying), because I can carefully brush the paint up to rim with out worrying about my brush eating into the underlying paint, and if I make a mistake, it is easy to wipe off.
