Is there a Revell Brand vs Testors Brand color guide?
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, May 6, 2005 12:06 AM
I'm feeling like I total noob here....

Most of the time, the models I end up buying are Revell brand and they have their own paint colors. Is there a guide somewhere that recommends suitable substitutes using Testors paints. Enamel or acrylic. I just need a place to start looking.

Sorry if this is asked on a daily basis...

Hi,
you may visit www.ipmsstockholm.org website. Under Helpdesk tab there is a color chart section.
Hope it helps.

Here's a link to a chart from the Revell site that cross references Revell and Testors paints. It actually redirects to Hobbico for the chart. This first link is to the page on the Revell site. This link is to the actual chart. Be aware that some of these are "closest match" and even some of the ones that aren't are kinda iffy. I've tried matching paints for 3 RoG Tornado kits with this chart and it can be aggravating. But there it is. I'd advise saving the PDF file or at least bookmarking the page, it's kinda hard to find.

And don't worry, it isn't an everyday question.
