Tamiya X20A Thinner

Hi, how much thinner should I use for my Tamiya Flat Acrylics for hand brushing? I've heard ppl say "thin milk consistency" but what does what mean exactly?

What kind of milk is never specified. Skim? 2%? With flats, a ratio of 3 parts paint to one part thinner will usually give great results. I find that this thick enough to give good coverage yet thin enough that brush marks disappear. You may have to add slightly more or less. I would also recommend using Tamiya's own thinner as it has a retarder in it to slow down the drying time. BTW, Sign - Welcome [#welcome] to the Forum.

I usually just keep a small dish of thinner to one side while bruash painting with acrylics, just dipping my brush into it evry few minutes.

I have found this stops the paint drying too quckly on the brush, without over thinning the paint. Sounds a bit hit and miss, but it does work.

Best of luck.
