That's another reason I were my glasses and not my contacts while I'm working on my models. Big Smile [:D]

Glad you're okay!

If you take a look at one of the many data sheets on the web for chemicals we routinely use and you'll see that extractor, mask and goggles as essential!
I'm going to take up a nice safe hobby like shark wrestling!

I'm glad to here that you will be ok. That could have gone down much worse. I have learned to respect our modeling chemicals and tools the hard way........ I lost a little piece of my left middle finger to Mr. Exacto when I was 15 and have that reminder before I do anything "courageous." Unfortunately I tend to forget my lessons and am often rudely reminded. Tool safety is like gun safety, always anticipate the worst.

When I first started airbrushing a couple of years ago I always cleaned my brush with Badger Airbrush cleaner. This is basically a chemical called Xylene in a can.
The stuff is pretty noxious so I always wore a respirator and ventilated well.
One night,I was cleaning the cup on the ab and sprayed some cleaner into it. It splashed back hitting me in the eye.
Boy did that hurt! I irrigated it immediately but still I had to be taken to a specialist eye emergency dept. of the hospital (my wife was not best pleased with me!)
Turned out I'd burned the cornea. Fortunately there was no permenant damage and a course of antiiotic eye drops to stop an infection prevented any long term damage.

The moral of the story...always where eye protection when dealing with nasty chemicals. I now use some wrap around goggles which you see scientist boffins wearing as the plastic is of good quality so I can still see to work.

When I emerge from the work room my son says I look like Darth Vader!
