Kilz type?
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, May 23, 2005 8:47 PM
I'm a newbie to the hobby and gathering information before I start my first model. Should I paint models with a "kilz" type product first before I paint my color scheme? Is there even such a product?

Just about any primer would work as long as it's pretty finely pigmented. I don't really use primer but lots of guys do and with good effect. So I guess the answer is, you can use it, but you don't have to. If I were brush painting I'd absolutely use primer however, I'd get a rattle can to put it on with, then lightly sand it. I guess I shouldn't make an assumption that you're airbrushing.
