I bought some satin black enamel in my local hardware store in pint cans. After thinning for the airbrush, it went on and the finish is just like the Floquil paints. It was one of the "house" brands kind of like Rustoleum and half the price of Floquil for the quantity I recieved.

in the regular paint world Satin and semi-gloss are the same so I am sure it would be for model paint as well. if your LHS doesn't have it then www.squadron.com or www.greatmodels.com would have it.

Finding a paint I've needed for a long time
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, June 14, 2005 9:11 PM
Hey I had what might sound like an easy question. I have looked and looked for years for a hobby store in my area that sells Satin Black paint. I've always needed it for my models but I've usually had to substitute. I recently bought an airbrush and I really want to find this paint to get it as true to how it should be as possible. Does anyone know anywhere online that I could buy some Satin Black paint, not sure if Tamiya or Testors would have it, maybe some place I haven't even thought of. Thanks alot.
