Is the cup covered or not? If it isn't, cover it with aluminum foil, plastic wrap, or something between uses.

Also, what kind of paint? Acrylic and laquer dry a lot faster than enamel.

Personally I never leave paint in the cup for more than about 15 minutes. If I'm not going to use it in that time I get it out and clean the airbrush.

I've left paint inside the cup in my gravity feed AB for a couple of hours before coming back and finishing whatever it was I was working on. it seems to work fine and the AB wasn't clogged. that being said, I usually don't leave paint in there for too long for fear of clogging the AB.
i haven't had problems with mixed paint separating back to the original colors.

How long can the paint sit waiting in the AB cup between coats? Doing small parts or sub-assemblies, in my case a prop and spinner that is the thing with white and green, needs only a tiny bit mixed but will it have already started to separate in the 30 minutes or so between the light coats? WIll keeping the needle closed let the paint stay"wet" inside to not gunk up the works?

I know... so many questions...Disapprove [V]
