I read a modeling book from the 1960's once and it said to use Elmer's white glue. I can't remember mix right now. It was 70% glue to 30% water or 70% water to 30% glue. But when you get the ratio right, it will make a gloss surface dead flat.

Semi household stuff for a flatt coat would be Future mixed with Tamiya Base.
You could even subsitute the Base with talcum..

.. you know how we all use a few different things for gloss coating out stuff. Well what other stuff is their to use to FLAT COAT with? the only thing I can think of is the Testors stuff.

I'm talking about other stuff, like any other 'household' use items to use, not just from another paint manuf.
