2 tone paint on a car, seal with future?

front half is red, back half is silver; then decals go over it go carry a "slash" race decal theme from front to rear.

now I plan for red first; as I find silver covers better. but after I spray the front half and top red; should I apply future over it; or just mask it off and go for the silver then put future over all of it.

future would go over all over all of it either way; but 1 way; thered be an extra coat... on the red.

thoughts?

You can do it both ways if you want. I would mask it first and then cover it with future after I did the painting. I have a truck that has 16 coats of future on it. It just about glows in the dark.
