WOW...I sure like the packaging of thos Color of Eagles paint by Vallejo, and Great models.com has REALLY GOOD prices!!

The Vallejo website has some GREAT tutorials on brush painting, airbrushing, and detailing figures and models. http://www.acrylicosvallejo.com/

Dont see the Color of Eagles paint on their website though....

Im unlucky as I live in So. Maryland and there is 1 hobby shop with in 1 hour ride. And all they have is the Testors Acryil paints.

Thanks for the sites....I will be checking them out!

Claude -

I use both of those stores, I tend to stay with www.greatmodels.com as they carry Color of Eagles paints made by Vallejo and I am slowly replacing my entire inventory with those. Typically if I buy a kit I check and order any colors I don't already have that are needed with the kit so the shipping charges won't be so out of proportion to the total cost...

---edit---

also on greatmodels they almost always have sales on certain colors of different brands of paint.. so if I order anything I check to see if there is a color I might need and if there is I add it to the order even if I have nothing to paint it with at the time. example would be recently I got the entire 'tri-color scheme' of paints for US WWII Naval aircraft from color of eagles because that's mostly what I build... No kits to put it on at present but I know one day I will use it...

There are a lot of good online sources. I personally use Squadron (www.squadron.com) most of the time but Great Hobbies (www.greathobbies.com) is also good as are several others.

For paint you probably won't save enough ot offset the shipping cost, but the advantage is that frequently you can find brands that aren't available locally. I'm lucky in that we have several local stores and I can get Alclad, Tamiya, Model Master, Polly Scale, and Citadel without ordering them.

Another question from the airbrush impared Faamecanic Big Smile [:D]

Where do you guys pick up your paints from? Is there a good online source with prices lower than Testors or other manufacturer websites?

thanks again all.... Sooner or later I will have a product to show for all your efforts helping me Shy [8)] I think my first model will either be a 1/72 Italeri P-47 Thunderbolt or a Hasegawa 1/48 BF-109 Messerschmitt that I picked up on sale from my local hobby shop.
