Not real flash....
You could always give up modelling and spend days /weeks in bars wasting other parts of your body away...Big Smile [:D]
But yeh, I understand allergies. Stupid things..
oh yeh, I was allegic to Marriage but this April seemed to have cured that.. AND... promoted wargaming and modelmaking... not bars.

I'm allergic to latex gloves. My hands will turn red and swell up. I use and much rather use the blue nitrile ones which thinner won't eat through. Other than latex, superglue, codine, pollen, pet dander, smoke, dust, I'm not really allergic to anything else. LOL

Hi there...

I actually have a strain of dermatitis (skin allergy disease) that I was born with, and suffer from a range of solvents. I have found using latex gloves helps a lot for me...
maybe that could be a solution?

Yes, personally I am allergic to enamels but my shrink told me to turn to acrylics and now I need less pills ( aga )

Sorry...

Seriously, I think we sometimes don't practice "safe sex" when it comes to some products ( mek and the like ); superglue can be a problem. Sydney, my little puppy sister is allergic to neoprene glue; every time I open a pot of these, she is gasping for air ( try to explain to your dog that he must not stay with you when you are doing such interesting things) I think it is due to toluene.
A long time ago I made some luthery and I know that you should be wise to use a mask while working ( grinding) on mother of pearl and abalone.
I work in French Social Security and you could be surprised as what can cause "Maladie Professionnelle " ( professonnal disease ) : concrete, but also exotic wood, or fierce animals hair and other bizarre things, so I think someone could reasonably develop a allergy to enamel.

Thank you all for coming José

I am allergic to super glue. It makes my eyes water and sneeze like crazy. If I get any on me I'll break out in hives. I never did like the stuff anyways. Photo etch parts kept falling off after a few days. Instead I use Testors Wood and Metal cement for gluing metals, plastics, and resin.

this is just for my own curriosity....i know its rare so humor me.

i actually developed a rather severe allergy as a child to enamel paints. don't ask how or why lol. it wasn't the thinner or glue either, i tried that one.

thank god i gew out of it but i only use acryls now. scaird to go back and hey i like them better. got used to acrylics back then. i didn't like the tamyia paints at the time and acryls weren't available. my solution was to use artist acrylics and coat my models in gesso. worked surprisingly well.
