Metallizer Sealant

I just applied my first metallized paint surface and it looks great. I'm concerned about the next steps. What is metallizer sealant and why do you need it? Will it dull the surface? Can you apply over Future and after decaling? Can you apply laquers like Dullcote over it?

Metalizer sealant is a clear protective coat that will "dull" the finish a bit but I think it should be done to keep the finish from tarnishing and eventually rubbing off. I've had this happen to a couple of my models as Metalizer is quite a fragile finish. There should be no problem applying Dullcote or similar lacquers over it assuming you can mask it without pulling up the finish.
