Compressor for my Badger 155
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, July 26, 2005 1:12 AM
I have a Badger 155 on the way that i bought for $40,-.
I wanted to pick up a compressor for it. This one in particular:

My main question is, that since the compressor has a 2 gallon tank, do is till need a water trap, and would this be a decent compressor?

It would probably be a decent compressor for airbrushing although a bit on the noisy side. Mind you, I've never used that particular compressor.

Tank size has nothing to do with the necessity of a moisture trap. What matters is the amount of relative humidity in your area.

But shouldn't the tank act as a moisture trap, because the air get's cooled down before it hits the hose?

I have a moisture trap on my 15-gallon compressor and every time I use it I will collect some water in the trap. When I finish and blow-down the tank I usually get about 4 times as much from the tank to.

I got mine at Home Depot or Lowes or something. Couldn't tell you the brand name, they are all pretty much the same. It cost about $20.

if you're out to Wal Mart they have them for $11.00 there too... like Scott said, they're all basically the same... I have a somewhat similar compressor to the one you posted and it works fine. Make sure you buy and extra 1/4" male to male adapter when you get the compressor. you'll need it on the end of the water trap to screw the airbrush hose on... They're about $1.00
