Windex on a Q-Tip will take a Future run right off and not harm anything underneath. I do it all the time.

Thanks guys, After talking to a modeler friend in KY. I decided to lightly wet sand it smooth. I am on a time limit so had to do something yesterday. But, I decided that I am going to do some test see what best works to remove Future with out harming the underlying coats of paint. I have some spare ship hulls laying around, that way i can paint several sections with different types and brands of paint. I still have a couple more ships to finish for this one customer so it will be a couple of weeks before I get to do it. But I will post my finidings once I do so.

Agian, thanks for all your suggestions.

if it is enamel it won't affect the base coat. I would use a qtip or microbrush and gently brush at the runs with a qtip DAMP (not soaked, to prevent windex streaks in the future) with windex until it is done, then you can refuture over the top. you might have to kit it with a couple of coats to get the place where you removed the future level with the rest....

good luck!

I have herd Windex will remove future, but I don't know if it will effect the base coat.

BTW: I have found out that when you spray the dullcote on it will make small runs less noticeable, as you will only be able to see them when really looking for them.

Good luck!

Future Clear coat problem

In a rush to finish a commission build I used too much pressure while spraying Futur Floor Wax on to a painted model in preparation of decaling. Well, now i have several runs that i need to get rid of.
I know that ammonia will strip the Furure, but will the ammonia affect the underlying paint. I painted the model with enamels cut with lacquer.

Anybody have any ideas/suggestions how I can fix the mess. The worse part is that I have to deliver this thing to my customer on Sunday.
