how so get a good airbrushing result

Practice is the key to successful use of an airbrush. The basic instructions which come with the brush will get you started, but your proficiency and what you like will dictate the results. Key are: surface preparation-model must be clean of dust, dirt and oil; a clean airbrush; a properly thinned paint, the right air pressure, and the right technique. The Tamiya paints most common in the US are acrylic, but an oil-base enamel line may be available elsewhere. Small parts can be painted with an airbrush, but they need to be held to a surface like an index card with tape or Blu-Tack so they don't blow away. I usually use a brush.

as a rule of thumb one can say that the paint used in an airbrush should have the consistency of milk.
and as jcarlberg said, practice is the key to success.
load your airbrush with some water first and try on a piece of cardboard box to get a feeling for your spraygun.
then load some thinned paint and use it on an old model.
thats how i did it. after a little while you get used to the airbrush
its really not that difficult.
always move your airbrush while spraying.
if you have a double action gun press trigger first for the air
then pull back to release the paint.
when you do that, dont aim at your model, aim next to it ,then move over the surface.

Somewhere on this forum there is a link to manual on how to learn to airbrush. If I'm not mistaken it is from Testors. But I agreen with jcarlberg PRACTICE and PRACTICE is the key. I recently found an airbrush shop which gave me some good advice on how to airbrush. Sorry the shop is in Holland.
