how much paint
Posted by Toother1321 on Tuesday, August 2, 2005 4:12 PM
I was just wondering how much paint you guys use to cover a model. I was suprised today when i was putting the top coat on my 1/72nd tomcat when it dawned on me that im probobally going to need to use more than jar of paint. I dont think i've ever had to do this before. However this is the first time i've ever used model master accrylics i usually use the enamels. Just wondering how many bottles you accrylic guys typically use per model.

I can typically paint 2 complete 1/35 scale armor pieces with 1 bottle of MM enamel paint.

I painted an entire 1/32 A-10 (3 coats, top and bottom) with less than a bottle of MM Light Ghost Gray. You are blowing an awful lot of paint for some reason if you need more than a bottle for a 1/72 F-14. You should be able to paint several of them with one bottle.

OK guys, how much model master enamel am I going to need to paint my 1/48th B-1??? haha. Toother, I agree with the other guys... You're shooting a lot of paint! Maybe you are thinning too much. In my experience with MM acrylic, it's pretty thin to start out with. Over thinning maybe??
