Will CO2 cans damage my paasche moisture trap
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, August 9, 2005 12:45 PM
I usually use a compressor when I airbrush, but being at my mother in laws, I am forced to use COs cans (the 12/17 oz sizes), and since I had to replace most of my gear, I bought a new 10ft hose with an moisture trap. I read that CO2 doesnt need a MT, and could possibly damage it if it were glass or plastic, is my metal MT from paasche in danger of getting damaged if I use it with CO2 cans? should I get a straight hose, instead?

it's the element that will be damaged as the CO2 freezes as it leaves the HP side of the moisture trap, take it off and just run a straight hose.

The only thing I know is that there is no water in CO2, hence you don't need a water trap; now I don't know if it could damage anything.

Thank you all for coming José

CO2 is compressed carbon-dioxide and is one of the main elements we breathe out...

CO2 is compressed so tightly that it turns to a liquid because of the high pressure, CO2 relieves the stress of high pressure by going to a less compressible substance i.e. liquid. As you release the CO2 into a less pressure system i.e. you airbrush hose......it reverts back to a gas. There is 0 H2O in your can and hose.
