Rick - here's an axample of a quiet compressor and the cost:

If you are still game for one after the sticker shock then browse through www.dixieart.com and check out the different makers... they are marked silent when they really are... the ones marked quiet probably aren't too much quieter than the one you have... gotta go for silent!

Good luck and welcome to the forums!!

First off, welcome to the forums.

As far as I know, silent compressors are about as quiet (and expensive) as a refrigerator. The Badger Tornado probably does not qualify as a silent compressor. My guess is that it is about as loud as what you currently have.

If you're otherwise content with your current compressor, you could probably pick up a regulator from your local auto parts or hardware store. Otherwise look at Badger's Million-air series or Silentaire's Supersilent line.

Need some advice on Compressors

Hello all;
I want to upgrade my compressor. I want silent with regulatable airflow.
Suggestions? Comments? Reviews? on silent compressors with regulators.
Would the Badger Tornado do?
All help and advice is much appreciated.
fyi - i currently use a new badger 360 double-a and a trusty old badger 200 single-a with my decades-old, really noisy, moisture-full, non-regulated, but otherwise fine badger compressor.
