                        I use the bottle when spraying a large area. The cup when only a small amount is needed. That way I don't have to stop half way through and refill the cup. Both have their advantages.

                        Ok thanks. Think I am going to give the cup a shot and see how it does. I am mainly concerned with small patches of color as in mottled effect. My problem with the bottle has been being surprised when the paint actually leaves the brush. Most of the time, the surprise is not a good thing.

                        Gravity feed cups are best but have low capacity-but you never hear of a cup falling off and making a mess. Siphon feed requires a bit more pressure and there are more parts to clog.

                        depends if the cup is above or below? either way, you should start the spray "off model" then move over the piece, never be aiming at the model when you start the spray to avoid spatter.

                        I was working on a project today and a thought occured to me. When using the bottle the paint is drawn up by the action of the air moving over top of the siphon. This results in a couple of second delay as paint has to be redrawn each time. With the paint being gravity fed its not the same is it, in that you have a delay between demand and output, correct?
