Spraying acrylic over enamel is no big deal. Acrylic won't bother enamel at all. Spraying enamel over acrylic will work fine as long as the acrylic is thoroughly cured. About the only combination you need to eally be careful with is laquer over acrylic. In that case, even with well-cured acrylic, the first couple of coats of laquer should be very thin "Mist" coats.

Yellow and white are problem colors for me as well. The only way I can usually get them to spray properly is to thin them a lot and then reduce the pressure somewhat. This allows the needle to be pulled back further opening more of the nozzle. This, of course, means that even more coats are necessary for good coverage.

Tamiya and Model Master....mixing?

Ok i've finaly realized that Tamiya white and yellow are....very bad for airbrushing. (so many coats) but i have a few questions for those modelers out there! What does happen when Enamel paint meets Dry Acrylic paint on a plastic model? or vice versa with Dry enamel and wet Acrylic? Also my airbrush always has problems with white and yellow......you see when I airbrush with these 2 colors....They Splatter.....with huge particles.....now i thin my paints 50/50 with water. Im using Tamiya Acrylics and create beautiful finishes with the other colors using these methods....but not with yellow or white....should i double thin them? 1 part paint to 2 parts thinner (water)? kinda stuck here.....as yellow just ruined my bomb painting stripes.

Anyone have any advice on what im doing wrong?

As with the question with Enamel on Acrylic....well i figure i'll get Floquil Reefer white Enamel as my LHS does not sell polly scale.
