How to apply clear
Posted by lavony on Tuesday, August 16, 2005 6:57 AM
Hello I tried to apply flat clear layer(Tamia) with my airbrush but it didn't came good. My question is : If I'll do it with a brush, will it leave signs of the brush?
what preesure should I use (with the AB)?
Thanks

applying with the brush will leave stroke marks (at least in my experience). no tips on pressure, though.

Hi there,

To be honest with you, and I don't know if other guys in here agree, but my personal experience, I usually dilute the flat with a bit of tamiya acrylic thinner, and then I spray at moderate pressure, so that I get an even cover, but also a strongish flow, it is a bit of trial and error, but thinning definitely helps with the flow. Varnishes are quite thick to start with.

All the best

You can also thin it with good old fashioned (and cheaper Wink [;)] ) rubbing alcohol.
