So I have a Paasche 500SR compressor that I got almost exactly a year ago. It's been working great, and I love it (use it with my Paasche H a/b). However, I was painting middle of last week and pressure started to drop and then it just stopped putting out air...any air at all. The compressor was still humming, so it had power, but nothing was coming out and the internal parts weren't moving. I freaked out and danced around like an idiot for a bit after shutting it off, then tried to use it again. Nothing. After about 20 minutes of crying, it finally started working again, but only for a bit and then did the exact same thing.
I called Paasche, and the tech (nice guy) gave me some pointers, suggesting that I had something hung up inside. He said to turn the fan manually several revolutions and run it for about 30 minutes with nothing hooked up to it. Well, when I looked in the air-output hole, it was different than he described (I think he was talking about another compressor model). Anyway, I disassembled part of it (I'm off warranty anyway) and inspected the diaphram and the piston...both appear fine and the piston actually moves better now. I ran it after reassembly and it seems to be fine, but I haven't hooked my brush up to it yet...probably do that tonight.
Anyway, I was wondering (in a long-winded way) if anyone else has had a similar problem with a diahpram-type compressor, or any compressor for that matter?
