Greetings,

I have two Iwata's (HP-C and CS) a Peak and a Harder & Steenbeck Evolution. As far as the Peak is concerned, it is basically a Iwata HP-C with the Peak name on the side and less money. It is made in the same factory that makes the Iwata's. The Peak comes with a preset handle and all the parts are interchangable with both my Iwata's. The Peak is made exclusively for Bearair and they carry all replacement parts. If you are looking for an Iwata, give the Peak some serious consideration. Same quality as Iwata and less money.

If you are looking for a higher end airbrush, get the H & S Evolution two in one. Fantastic airbrush. I live in Illinois but got mine delivered in three days. Obeeliks has fantastic customer service. Sine I got my Evolution, I don't use my Iwata's anymore.

I-beam, propertly thinned, the spray pattern with my Peak is nice and tight with very, very little over spray.

Here is the way I see it. If money is a little tight, and you want a Iwata quality airbrush then the Peak is the way to go. Especially when you consider replacement parts for the Iwata, very expensive. But now that I have my Peak, I can use the Peak replacement parts at a much more reasonable price.

If you want to spend about $175.00, which should include shipping, then definitely go for the Harder & Steenbeck Evolution. You get two needles and two color cups. It is a very, very nice airbrush and is my favorite. Do not have any reservations about dealing with Obeeliks which is overseas. Fantastic and fast service.

Thanks for all the info, guys! I'm still deciding between Badger, Paasche, or Peak for my first decent airbrush. I really want to try to get one of the sets where the airbrush, hose, jars, etc are included so I don't have to buy everything seperately at first.

If I do decide to go with the Peak, I'll let you know how it works. It may be awhile, I'm taking it slow as I'm just getting back into modeling after a few years off.

Thanks again everyone!Smile [:)]

The peak C-5 is an excellent airbrush on par with a Iwata HP-C and like already said the parts change out between them. It sprays very nice, little overspray. I-beam just so you know Iwatas are made out of the same material as most other airbrushes-Brass and platted with chrome or nickle or some combination. Cbreeze I agree with you about the Evolution it is a shame that there is no place to buy them in the states. I ordered mine about three years ago from Obeeliks also. Just so you guys know Bear air has 25% off Peak and Rich pen airbrushes if you send them a old airbrush in. This special goes until August 31st I think.

From what I have read, the Peak C-5 is the same as an Iwata hp-c (.3mm) with a few differences and at less cost. Has a pre set handle which is a nice feature. The main difference is it's made of brass with chrome plating where the Iwatas are entirely chrome(I think). Iwata parts are interchangeable. You need an Iwata style hose. I was thinking about getting one 2. If you get one let us know how it performs and how you like it.

EDIT: Opps, posted at the same time as you Cbreeze. Sorry to repeat. How is the spray pattern on your C-5??? How much overspray???

Don't know about quality, but one question you need to ask is where do you have to go to get parts? If you bend a needle or split a nozzle do you have to order the parts and wait for them to come in? Badger, Iwata, Paasche parts you can find anywhere, I get most of mine locally without.

It may be made by one of the well-known manufacturers. They frequently make them and put another name on them. I just don't know.

Was wondering if anyone here had any experience with PEAK airbrushes? I saw one on bearair.com that looked pretty good, but don't know about the quality.
