humbrol primer
Posted by clairnet_person on Wednesday, August 17, 2005 11:25 PM
i currently have a can of humbrol primer i tried it on a model of mine and at first sputtered out a glob of brownish stuff. I think it was the fact that i didn't shake the can enough and i was right BUT THEN it just came out in a torrent almost totally obscuring the surface detail on my precious model later though it just seemed to settle down on and the surface detail became visible again
the can also had quite a tendency to clog (and this is a brand new can)

so either it's a bad can or humbrol primer just sucks

i don't recommend getting it unless you have good experience with it

Hope i didn't bore you with my little rant Smile [:)]

Yes, spray cans can act very strange somtimes !!! Be sure to keep it in the right conditions and shake well before use !!!

Cheers,

And don't start spraying on your model!
Test the can on a scrap piece of plastic, before going anywhere near your model.

I currently am using Humbrol primer exclusively (readily available) but from their tinlets. I run this through my airbrush and get good results. I have experienced my own horror story with an aerosol can (laquer based paint for RC model) however.
