Omni 4000 or badger 360??

wow thanks for all this info,! over all what you rate the 3 guns Omni 4000 or badger 360,100lg, 1 being best and 10 being the wost/?

I've found that I can get finer lines more consistently with the 100 than I can with the Omni, but then remember that I am using a 100 with a fine head fitted.

I did this the day I got my 100. I already had some dark gray paint in my 4000 and just blew a line on some styrene just to compare the 100 and 4000. I poured the same paint in my 100 and blew a line on the same piece of styrene just to compare the line width. It wasn't thin enough to get good lines but I was just trying to compare the two brushes. I can get better lines from both of them.

I bought a 100g with a fine tip recently. I need this configuration as I'm into WW2 German planes and their mottle camo. I've only had it for a month but as I see it, I'm only comfortable painting 1 inch widths at the largest.

Since you're painting single color like cars, I would go for the medium or even large tip and perhaps the 100lg for larger paint cup. With the medium cup in the 100g, I definitely have to refill to cover a full airplane (12" length & 12" wingspan). Refilling is no big deal for me since I use a shot glass to mix paint and thinner and an dropper to draw the paint from the shot glass to the paint cup.

Rick, I still use my Omni on a regular basis for large area work, such as general camo and gloss & clear coats, so I'll be keeping it for now.

The 100 gets used for detail work and retouches, both because of the small amount of paint that it will hold, and because it delivers paint in a more controlled manner than the Omni, in my hands at least.

Edit ... There are three heads AVAILABLE. It typically only comes with one. If you want the other two you have to buy the heads and needles.

Excellent airbrush. I don't use mine as much as I do my Omni 4000 but that's mainly because I've had the Omni longer and am more accustomed to it.

i was just badger's website wow the 360 had one of the highest rating across the board.

the 360 has a rotating cuff... rotated with the small cup facing up it is a gravity feed airbrush and can get some amount of small detail, rotated down you can stick a bottle onto it for large jobs that will require a lot of paint.

The ability to have a large amount of pain in the bottle comes at the expense of having to raise the pressure to pull the paint up into the airbrush. The ability to shoot with the cup in the up position comes at the expense of having to refill the pain cup often.

Both are good brushes I have heard (I don't own either although I own the sister brush to the 360, the Badger 155 which lacks the rotating cuff, mine is always siphon fed). To me if you spray cars you will be using the same color for a longer amount of time than you would be shooting details onto it. Something like the Omni4000 or Badger 100LG would both allow you to carry a decent amount of paint in the cup, while at the same time being able to shoot at lower pressures and if need be go in close to the body for a small piece.

Just to confuse matters further, have you thought about the badger 100?

I use a 100 SG with a fine head for detail paintwork, and straight out of the box I found it easier to use than my Omni4000.

Not sure how the 100 relates to the 360 though.
