Dixie Art
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, August 31, 2005 8:46 PM
Has anyone heard how Dixie Art faired through the storm/flood? I know 80% of New Orleans is flooded, but maybe Dixie is in the 20% that's not. My thoughts and prayers are with them as well as the rest of the folks down there. The people at Dixie have always been very helpful and carry great products. I hope they bounce back as soon as feasible.

I've got my in-laws from New Orleans staying with me right now till they let them back in to get to their house and they said where Dixie Art is, is in the highest parts of New Orleans and probably not even flooded. Right now no one is allowed back in the city for another month so if anyone has placed an order that hasn't shipped it might be a bit of a wait for it...

Thanks Tom. You and Scott always have the answers! Speaking of remembering people, let's not forget that sage member of the airbrush world, Mike V. His son is leaving in a few weeks for Marine Corps basic training at San Diego, so say a prayer for him as well.

No prob Eliott... the only reason I had the answer tonight is that I have first hand reference on roughly where dixie art is!! Namely the inlaws staying with me... (Dixie art is down the street from their house, so when they finally get back I might need to make a visit!!! Wink [;)])

---edit---

And for Mikes son I send my best wishes... I remember the night I flew off to boot camp... probably the wierdest thing to happen to me in my life... showing up at 3am... everyone yelling at me... ok I guess the wierdest thing was the "hurry up and wait" the first week or so.... the hours at clothing issue etc... waiting for this, waiting for that... quite an adjustment.....
