The model master aluminium (enamel?) goes on nicely but isn't very durable in my experience (limited). If you need to do any masking over the aluminium I would recommend you seal the finish under a coat of Future before masking. I have primed the surface each and every time I have sprayed any of MM metallic enamel paints.

The main reason that a polished surface is recommended for a silver metalic finish is that the silver will show every fault that you have left on the surface, even the rough surface of a primer coat. The few times I've done a NMF finish, the polished surface always looked the best.

Do I need to prime

Hi all
I,m jumping in the deep end with my latest build and am painting a metal finish Oscar. I have never used Model Master's aluminium paint before and according to FSM How to use an Airbrush to get a realastic finish you first need to paint over a glossy surface . Do's this mean that you paint on bare palastic,no primer first.New to airbrushing as well .
Any guidance would be appreciated , thanks SushiBig Smile [:D]
