Nail polish for color

I read once a long time ago that a modeler used finger nail polish for unique car colors. Had anyone done this and if so how do you thin it for airbrushing?

I thought about this too. Not gonna go browsing in the nail polish section though. However maybe I'll take my sister and offer to buy her some if she takes it to the counter. hehehe. Cool [8D] "metal flake green apple" or a nice "flake white" and of course "metal flake" red. I would say thin it with acetone or acetone based fingernail polish remover. Maybe even lacquer thinner would work. If you use the straight acetone, be careful and spray in very light thin coats and let evaporate at first because it will easily damage the plastic until some layers are built up. You won't know until you try maybe on some scrap at first. Let us know if it works.
