When you have a bottle on these airbrushes you should be holding the bottle with the left hand to steady it, that is why it feels nose heavy.
You will find you have better control of the airbrush using both hands also. Wink [;)]
Just a thought.

Berny - I also found it a bit nose heavy with the bottle. I did about 97% of my painting with the color cups though. If it was a larger area I would just mix it in the bottle and use a pipette to refill the color cup after it emptied... eventually the extra bottle I had became my future bottle and that was about all I sprayed with the bottle...

That's great news Berny.
It is a great airbrush for sure and you are finding out why it has become so popular in the last few years.

Just be careful as that airbrush will put out a lot of paint if you pull the trigger all the way back. Wink [;)]

I gave it a try tonight. I ran some paint through it just to get the feel of it. It sure does put out a lot of paint with the trigger held back. i practiced with it for about 15 minutes and I have learned the trick for paint control. Just very little back pressure and increase if more paint is needed.

The balance is great, a little nose heavy with a full paint jar, but just right with a full paint cup. It isn't quite as bulky as the Paasche and is about the same weight and feel of my old Badgers. I think I am going to like it.

You will find Badger's customer service even better and if you don't then let me know as I have connections. Wink [;)]

I still have my two old Badgers and one Paasche left. I use one Badger for fine work and the Paasche for mediam work. The old worn out Paasche i used for spraying large areas such as camouflage.

The worn out one has a three part paint/air button. The piston and seat were worn out and I got constant paint flow all the time. The only way I could shut it off was to run the needle all the way in. I tried the new parts but they just would not fit.

Paasche customer service was very helpful in trying to help me fix it. They even sent me parts, which didn't work, which they did not charge me. I did not even have to return the parts sent to me. They even offered me 25% off on a new air brush, since my old one could not be repaired.

Husky? how so? I find it rather slim, unless you meant another way... now the 175 Crescendo on the other hand, it sits in your hand like one of those big cigars Archie Bunker used to smoke... Wink [;)]

Berny - you'll love the Anthem... it does well with a lot of different paints and does fairly well with both wide coverage and detail... best of all if you have a Michaels near you they have the needles for it there... good luck to you and I hope you enjoy it!!!

Mike

I got the AB in the mail today. It has a different feel to it compared to my other two Badgers and Paasche. I'll have to do a little practicing with it before I use it for real.

My old braded hose that I have on my compressor fits the new AB, so now I'll have another extra hose.

Thanks, again for your gift.

Thanks Mike. Sorry it took so long to answer you but my Wife and I took off for the weekend. I have a 33 foot camper parked on some land we bought, next to a river. We are only about two miles from a lake, so we spent the weekend fishing and kicking back. I needed some time to relax and get away from the world. I feel much better now.

Again, thank you. Happy modeling.

Check your E-mail in box. I just sent you my address. Thank you for your kind offer.

Bill,

I took the package to the Post Office a while ago so you should see it probably around Thursday I would imagine with the Labor Day weekend and all.
I think you will like the Anthem once you get used to it as it is balanced well and is easy to take apart. The head of the airbrush is finger tightened and you don't need any tools to disassemble it.
The needle can be removed in about 2 seconds and the entire airbrush can be taken apart into it's major parts in about 10-15 seconds.

Have a great weekend my friend and keep on modeling. Wink [;)]

Thanks Bill.
What you said about doing something and not just believing reminds me of the scripture where it says that "faith without works is dead."
It is indeed better to give than to receive. Wink [;)]

Have a safe Labor Day weekend my friend.

Mike,

Considering what you have been dealing with the past couple of months (Son and Job) your offer to assist Berny is an act of unselfishness not often seen these days. Bravo!

I know you'll put it down to your belief, but there is a huge difference between believing and doing.

Bill

So long folks!

Berny I'm a Badger user myself but from what I've head and read the newer model Passche brushes are very good. The VL and VLS as well as the Millenium are supposed to be very high quality and appear to be all-metal construction. The H and HS single-action brushes appear to be plastic and metal from what I can see on the Paasche web site.

what parts can't you get for it? I have an older Badger (late 60's, early 70's) that I was able to send back to them a couple of years back and they rebuilt it for me. I would think Paasche might do the same.

Paasche Air Brush worn out
Posted by berny13 on Thursday, September 1, 2005 9:10 PM
I have an old (around 30 years old) Paasche double action air brush that has just worn out. I can no longer get parts for it. I still have a Paasche single action, that is about 35 years old. I also have two Badger air brushes, one single, one double action, both which are about 40 years old. I don't think I can live with just three air brushes.

Are the new Paasche brushes as good as the old ones? What is the quality of manufacturing? All of my old brushes are made of metal, not plastic. They were made to last, as you can see by the age of mine.
