Compressor 180-11 auto shut off question
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, September 7, 2005 2:03 PM
Hi, I'm new to this forum and also new to airbrush. I just bought a Badger Cyclone II 180-11 and was wondering about the auto shut off feature. When the air is not flowing, is it suppose to completely shut off, as in no noise at all, or does it do the constant short bursts of on/off? Because I get the short bursts which rattles the compressor and I'm afraid I did something wrong. I've read about the hose leaking air, but my doesn't appear to be leaking. I have the braided hose that came with my Athem set. Any help to this noob will be appreciated. Thanks.

I've got a 180-11, and it shuts off completely when the airbrush isn't in use. It wouldn't take much of a leak at all to cause it to cycle like you've described. Did you use teflon tape on all the threaded joints in your adapters, etc, getting from the compressor outupt to your AB hose?

Ah I see, I'll try the tape. I didn't think it should rattle like that. Thanks for the help.
