CHROME Fx chrome Paint With A really good reflective finish!

Has any body ever herd of or used this chrome pait before? Do you think it would be a good paint to use on a model kit instead of using bare-metal foil?

I would appreciate everyones opinions cause I wanna know if it is worth spending the money on and if it will not destroy the kit? I'm planning on using the paint on a 1/72 scale Heller/Humbrol 1/72 Air Force One vc-137c Boeing 707kit.

I use several types of the metal paints depending on what I want them to look like. I have about all of them from hobby-lobby and depending on what color the primer is on what the skin will look like I will post some pics of the bomber I am doing now and let you look at those.

Will have to wait till after work tho Tongue [:P]

At $8,000 for the system I wouldn't worry too much about the kit [:0] Take a look at Alclad II. It works quite well a a **LOT** lower cost.

Please - it's only $7,900 (although that's without tax).

Are you planning to use it for some sort of production run, or is this to build a single model (or even just a handful of them)? I have to agree that this is probably more than you need (and may not even offer the control you'd like, since it's probably designed to completely cover a piece, not just selected parts of it.) Keep us updated :-)

You could get the model nickel plated and chromed for way less than what that system costs.

I recommend Alcad for chrome. It looks great. I believe there is also another good chrome paint out there, but it is hard to find. I can't remember what company makes it, but I found it out my Auto Zone and it is for chrome touch-ups on bumpers, mirrors, framework, etc.
