How do IpPaint photo etched parts
Posted by sneakypete134 on Thursday, September 8, 2005 2:17 PM
I have tried everything I know (which isn't much), thinning, thickening, different thinners, different brushes and still the paint obliterates the detail of the photo etch parts. Air brushing usually ends up with them "gone with the wind" (sorry couldn't help myself), even when I stick them to various sticky stuff.

Anybody out there have any pointers???

Clean the PE parts with preferably denaturated alcohol(not Isopropanol A.K.A. rubbing alcohol). If you don't have denaturated alcohol and can't get any, then use soapy water, but don't let the water sit.

What type of paint are you using? It sounds to me you are using way to much paint and trying to do it in one coat. I have never had paint cover the detail on photo etch parts.
