Probably around $150 for the kit and aftermarket stuff. Of course I Spent 9 months and nearly 400 hours building it so that's about $17 a month. Find me a cheaper hobby anywhere.

When this kit first came out (Tamiya 1/32 F-4 Phantom) I paid roughly $120 for the kit. It was worth every penny!! It is by far the best kit I have purchased to date. The cockpit detail is outstanding!

Not an aircraft kit but I've spent 300$ so far on my T-90 conversion. On an aircraft kit 100$ for my superdetailed MiG-29.

well, I purchased a Monogram Patton tank in canada, 1/32. Including the shipping and payment fees (western union) it cost me a fortune. If I recall correctly I bought in 1999/2000 80 guilders. That is approx 36 euro's or 44 US dollars.
Happy to have bought it, but i'll stick to cheapies in the future; with a large stock and enough patience, I won't eagerly pay the normal price of a kit....

Probably close to a grand or a little more, back when I raced Formula One R/C pylon. Engines alone were 350, then the kit, the airborne radio, the 3 or 4 colors of automotive paint & clearcoat, fiberglass, etc, etc, etc..

I gladly paid $120 For Accurate Armour's Land Rover XD 'Wolf' Defender:

Now I'm just working towards a level of modeling competence to build it Laugh [(-D]

As far as how much I'd spend for an aircraft kit? I'm not sure...I've spent more than $75 bucks so far (including PE and aftermarket accessories) on several warbirds in my stash already. I can easily see spending more if the subject interests me.

Cheers!

The most I've spent for a base kit is $175 and that was for an all resin 1/48 RS.14. I've probably spent more than that on aftermarket for some of my more adventurous builds like my visible B-17 project.

Well, about 13 years ago I spent 55 bucks on a 48th scale all resin fighter and I can't remember what it was exactly but I do remember that when I opened the bag and looked at it I felt like I just got completely ripped off.
It was so small and it looked weird, you know (resin?, what the heck was resin)
Just wanted to share because at the time I made very little money and 55 bucks was
huge to me back then.

A few years ago, £900 on Tamiya`s 1/16 radio controlled Tiger 1. Absolutely worth every penny. The looks on friends faces when it roars into life!

The most? $95 on Tamiya's FAMO with Tank Transporter, 2nd was $85 on Tamiya's Dragon Wagon.

The most I spent on an aircraft was $60 on a Revell's B-29.
